Judy’s Perfect Prime Rib

We asked our mom, Judy Serres, what pairs best with our 2018 Watriss – our estate Bordeaux-style blend.
Her answer was classic:  Prime Rib!
The Watriss is a wine with structure and developed tannins, which soften nicely when matched with the marbling in prime rib. The dark fruit and holiday spice characteristics also match nicely with this tender, savory meat.To allow both the wine and beef to show their character, simple is best. Luckily, Judy is willing to share her recipe for perfect prime rib:

INGREDIENTS

One large bone-in prime rib (Costco has prime cut)
Worcestershire sauce
Softened Butter
Salt & Pepper

DIRECTIONS:

Let prime rib rest on the counter for two hours so it is room-temperature
Preheat oven to 350
Put prime rib in roasting pan
Dot with pats of softened butter
Sprinkle with Worcestershire sauce
Liberally coat with salt
Sprinkle with pepper
Roast at 350 for 2 1/2 hours
Important: Use juice for gravy
